Hope Sandoval & The Warm Inventions is an independent alternative/dream pop band composed of Hope Sandoval from the band Mazzy Star and Colm Ó Cíosóig of My Bloody Valentine. Their first studio album, Bavarian Fruit Bread, was released on October 23, 2001. Alan Browne, from Irish band Dirt Blue Gene, played bass and co-wrote several songs on the album. Through the Devil Softly was released on September 29, 2009, and was recorded with Dirt Blue Gene

Son of a Lady - Single. Hope formed The Warm Inventions with Colm Ó Cíosóig (formerly My Bloody Valentine) and they released their first album called Bavarian Fruit Bread, in 2001. This album sounds, again, little different in terms of theme, voice, and instrumentation than that of her work with Mazzy Star.

Even in Hope Sandoval’s early work with Mazzy Star, the singer, then in her twenties, did not give off an air of youthfulness. Her vocal on Fade Into You -the 1993 track that marked the band’s one and only foray into Hot 100 territory-sounded vaguely anesthetized; it’s the voice of a woman who’s seen plenty and knows better than to pour more feeling into the world than it could possibly give to her in return. The enduring sameness of Sandoval’s style also provides proper context for the nostalgic undercurrents of Son of a Lady. After all, what is nostalgia but immobility-the halting of forward motion by the insatiable desire to go back.

Son Of A Lady 03. Let Me Get There (acoustic).

The EP is a pleasant addition to the Warm Inventions catalog; nothing too essential but worthwhile all the same. Or consider a donation? Track List.

Note for audiophiles: I can confirm that both the vinyl and mastering are outstanding. This is a very warm and lush recording with ample dynamic range and typical Hope dreaminess. The record itself is well-cut with no nasties such as distortion, non-fill etc. It's a real pleasure listening to this on a VPI Scout & Leben CS300XS. Proves that not all modern vinyl is bad.

Kurt Vile isn't credited on the sleeve anywhere. Is this correct?

Kurt Vile neither sings nor plays on this version of "Let Me Get There." It has Hope singing on it only. It' was the prior version released in 2016 that was a duet with Hope & Kurt both singing.

He isn't singing on this one, so I would say, he's not featured on this version!
