Reach for the Sky is the fourth full-length album by the American glam metal band Ratt. Though it sold well enough to achieve platinum status and spawned the popular songs "Way Cool J. and "I Want a Woman", the record's performance was not enough to keep the group on the road for longer than seven months. As a result, "What's It Gonna Be", a track not released as a single, was used as a B-Side to "Lovin' You's a Dirty Job", the first single from the band's next release Detonator

This album marked a slight change for the band's sound; it showed them taking a more blues-rock approach to their music than previously seen. While not their best outing, this is still a pretty solid Ratt record. I'm not really sure why exactly. This has everything that their previous albums had minus the terrible attempt at a ballad.

Not only Reach For The Sky is a solid album but also sports one of Ratt’s greatest songs ever; Way Cool Jr., where they truly captured lightning in a bottle. The single prompted the record sales to over a million. There are some other really great songs on this album such as I Want A Woman and the awesome City to City. Also Don’t Bite The Hand That Feeds, Chain Reaction, Bottom Line and What I’m After got fire, some of them pretty elaborated. And Ratt even did their first ‘true’ power ballad for this one; the cool I Want To Love You Tonight.
