American Gigolo is the soundtrack album to the 1980 movie of the same name, starring Richard Gere and Lauren Hutton. The music was composed and performed by Giorgio Moroder and was released worldwide on the Polydor label. It peaked at in the Billboard 200 album charts. All the cuts from the soundtrack also went to number two for five weeks on the disco/dance charts.

Amazingly, despite Bowie’s involvement, the accompanying soundtrack album has never been reissued on CD – until now! The original 15-track vinyl sequence has been swelled with seven bonus tracks. Also included are tracks by Marlene Dietrich (this proved to her final film role), as well as hit acts The Manhattan Transfer, The Pasadena Roof Orchestra and The Village People.
