Yearning Adventure Background Music. The unsettled tone of most of the music emerges from sparse, staccato arrangements that include, sometimes alone and sometimes together, acoustic guitar, plucked strings, hand percussion, and small string ensembles performed by the London Contemporary Orchestra.

Does anyone know how many of this pressing were done?

If you think that this record could console you, as you didn't have a chance to buy the book - it won't. Don't expect that! It wont save you. The book-alike sleeve doesn't have the texture you'd expect. The pop-up is ok, but still you'd wish you had a book. The record itself has a pretty loud surface noise. Sometimes it's unbearable, sometimes it makes you feel like you're listening to a scary radio show.If all the records (such as The Thing) from this label suffer from the same problems, I can't understand why people overpay at discogs for the sold out copies.

I’m not really sure what to make of your comparison between the record and the book. They are two different things...I would never buy a book expecting it sound like a record, nor would I buy a record expecting it to read like a book.Anyways - I have to disagree with your assessment of the sound quality and the record label. I own both this and The Thing from Waxwork, and both sound incredibly wonderful. The Babadook soundtrack is so clean, clear, and crisp. I’ve listened to my copy of The Thing multiple times since receiving it, and it I hear no issues at all. I’ve not had to clean either of these records in order for them to sound great right out of the sleeve.

Great pressing and great sound...no problem (no click or pop)

I will be honest, the Babadook soundtrack is not very good. It's a bit dull... eventless, not very interesting musically, the movie is great, soundtrack, I'd give a pass. The sound quality is fine, the content does little for me. I'd much prefer to see A Tale of Two Sisters get a vinyl release. i was surprised the nursery rhyme was not on the album2/5 stars.

Waxworks sent mine with a damaged cover and torn sleeves. They only agreed to replace the cover, not the sleeve. Will never buy from Waxworks again.

Why would you want the sleeves? they are just generic..waxwork has always been great about replacing damaged albums which is usually due to the post office not Waxwork
TheFresh
The sleeve is just a generic sleeve, so that shouldn't matter. The cover though, definitely makes sense to replace if damaged.

Waxwork is one of the few labels I trust to put out a dead quiet colored pressing. There's no surface noise, even in the quietest passages. The records always come well protected in a polyester inner sleeve, thick outer sleeve, and a heavy-duty mailer. The pop-up gatefold is a great feature. Definitely get this release; it's worth every penny!

I second this, this is my first Waxwork purchase and it IS dead quiet. Will be purchasing from them again in the future.
