Morgan Kibby sings, plays keyboards, and contributes songwriting to M83; as White Sea, her over-the-top synth-pop straddles the line between "cheesy" and "cool", and the best moments on her debut LP find a balance between those two poles. On In Cold Blood, the theatrics are comparable in ambition to the music that Kibby's had a hand in as part of M83. It’s not as tastefully epic, but Kibby deserves props for fully realizing the vision outlined on her debut EP, 2010's This Frontier.

Morgan Grace Kibby (born May 3, 1984) is an American singer and songwriter based in Los Angeles, California  . In Cold Blood is a 1996 TV miniseries based on Truman Capote's book of the same name. In two parts, it aired on CBS starting November 24, 1996, and concluding November 26. A DVD of the miniseries was released in 2002.

Considering she did mostly everything on her own, that album is quite underrated. The songwriting unfortunately isn't on par with the production at times, some forgettable melodies, but she crafted some nice songs such as the first three tracks. Or consider a donation?

The only time In Cold Blood finds White Sea veering up the creek without a paddle is oddly during the two Greg Kurstin collaborations which are neatly snuggled together inside the latter half. NYC Loves You" is a homeward bound, mulleted '80s power ballad which inexplicably finds Kibby belting it out in a white, willowy dress atop a mountain whilst Kurstin records the action from a circling helicopter. Our guide's spirit, now bruised and battleworn, begins a determined "Cloudbusting" slow stride up the hill before the "Devil horse" breaks toward a thundering "I Will Survive" ascent. A final sweep into the hurricane. Like most of In Cold Blood, it races with open-armed acceptance not sheepish reluctance, "You will be loved, And it will end in disaster". In Cold Blood is a seductive, sophisticated and hot-blooded debut simmering with feverish desire.
