Nightclubbing is the fifth studio album by Jamaican singer Grace Jones, released on 11 May 1981 by Island Records. Recorded at Compass Point Studios with producers Alex Sadkin and Island Records' president Chris Blackwell, as well as a team of session musicians rooted by rhythm section Sly & Robbie, the album marked her second foray into a reggae-influenced new wave style. Primarily a reggae album, Nightclubbing draws on a variety of genres, including new wave, R&B, art pop, dub, synthpop and funk, making it a departure from her previous disco work.

Nightclubbing is the fifth studio album by Grace Jones, released in 1981. It is the second of three post-disco albums that Jones made at Compass Point Studios in the Bahamas and became Jones' commercial breakthrough and also formed the basis of her groundbreaking concept tour A One Man Show. It claimed the number one slot on NME Album of the Year. The lead-off single for the album was "Demolition Man" written by Sting for Jones and also included on The Police's album Ghost in the Machine later in the year. Nightclubbing is the fifth studio album by Grace Jones, released in 1981.

Nightclubbing also continues Jones' tradition of picking excellent songs to reinterpret. This time out, the Police's "Demolition Man," Bill Withers' "Use Me," and Iggy Pop's "Nightclubbing" receive radical reinterpretations; "Nightclubbing" is glacial in both tempo and lack of warmth, while both "Use Me" and "Demolition Man" fit perfectly into Jones' lyrical scheme.

Nightclubbing is the fifth studio album by Jamaican singer Grace Jones, released on May 11, 1981 by Island Records. The album includes reggae-oriented covers of the songs by Flash and the Pan, Bill Withers, Iggy Pop, and Ástor Piazzolla, as well as several new tracks, three of which were co-written by Jones. The album was Jones' second album to use a reggae, electronica and R&B sound. The 2-Disc Deluxe Remastered Version states that the writer(s) of "If You Wanna Be My Lover" is unknown.

A world-class album from a true cultural icon. Nobody was expecting Grace Jones to re-launch her career successfully with 2008’s Hurricane, arriving 19 years after her previous studio album. Even fewer were expecting this larger-than-life artist to return with a vital piece of work that engaged with the post-trip hop end of dubstep and a hitherto unexplored familial connection with evangelical gospel song

Nightclubbing is definitely Grace's best studio album. There are so many classic tracks here to tickle your ears. Pull Up To The Bumper trucks along with car horns and a scratchy hook. Feel Up, consisting of upbeat African rhythms is one of the best here. Walking In The Rain has Grace speaking in deep intonation "Feeling like a woman, looking like a ma. And then there's the showstopper Nightclubbing. The cover is definitely very strong. There is no middle ground. I never really listened to Grace Jones back when she was popular. Recorded at Compass Point Studios with producers Alex Sadkin and Island Records' president Chris Blackwell, as well as a team of session musicians rooted by rhythm section Sly & Robbie, the album marked her second foray into a new wave style that blends a variety of genres, including reggae, art pop, dub, synth-pop and funk.
