The Kick Inside is the debut studio album by English singer-songwriter and musician Kate Bush. It was released on 17 February 1978 and contains her UK number one hit, "Wuthering Heights". The album peaked at number three on the UK Albums Chart and has been certified Platinum by the British Phonographic Industry
Kate Bush's first album, The Kick Inside, released when the singer/songwriter was only 19 years old (but featuring some songs written at 15 and recorded at 16), is her most unabashedly romantic, the sound of an impressionable and highly precocious teenager spreading her wings for the first time.
That Kate Bush named her debut album The Kick Inside might make it seem like her music is the product of a maternal wellspring. Women artists likening their work to their children is one culturally accepted way for them to discuss creativity; it implies a reassuring process of nurture. Another is as a bolt from the blue, a divine phenomenon which they just happened to catch and transmit to a deserving audience; no need for fear of a female genius here. But Bush’s debut, released when she was 19, says Up yours to all that
The Kick Inside is the debut studio album from English singer-songwriter Kate Bush. Released on February 17, 1978, the album made it to on the UK album charts and has been certified Platinum. Several progressive rock legends worked on the production for this album including Duncan Mackay, Ian Bairson, David Paton, Andrew Powell, Stuart Elliott of The Alan Parsons Project, and David Gilmour of Pink Floyd. With its spellbinding storytelling, gentle balladry, and its dramatic rock production, The Kick Inside was catalyst that sparked Kate’s brilliant career in music.
Album: The Kick Inside (1978). Get the Sheet Music License This Song. Lee from Ottawa, CanadaHello Sara. Actually,Kate Bush, who wrote the song, has said herself that it is about a brother and sister. There is a wealth of interesting information in there from Kate herself. Sara from Madison, WiActually, my mother is a huge Kate Bush fan and she says that that whole brother/sister thing is just what everybody thinks the song's about, but it really isn't.
The Kick Inside is a music studio album recording by KATE BUSH (Crossover Prog/Progressive Rock) released in 1978 on cd, lp, vinyl and/or cassette. The songs not included in "The Kick Inside" went to the Kateīs following record, "Lionheart", an album with a sound very similar to "The Kick Inside", but not as good in my opinion. Best songs: all of them! Maybe itīs not a masterpiece of progressive music, but itīs a great album of "symphonic pop" music.
