Twisted Wheel formed in February 2007 in Saddleworth, Greater Manchester by guitarist and singer Jonny Brown and bassist Rick Lees, later joined by drummer Adam Clarke. Frontman Jonny Brown heard the name in a Paul Weller track "Into Tomorrow", where the lyrics say "Round and round like a twisted wheel, Spinning in attempt to find the feel". They have commercially used covers of The Jam's 'That's Entertainment' and The Zombies 'She's Not there'. The band's debut album Twisted Wheel was recorded in June 2008 at Hillside studios Los Angeles and produced by award winning producer Dave Sardy ( Oasis Dig Out Your Soul and Don't Believe The Truth) Noel Gallaghers High Flying Birds, Wolfmother, Band of Horses, Marilyn Manson, Jet and LCD Soundsystem to name just a few. The album was released on 13 April 2009.

Twisted Wheel chose The Zombies 1964 track She’s Not There and have become the first group to record a version of its chosen song. The band’s self-titled debut album is released next Monday and there will be an acoustic performance at HMV’s Oldham store to celebrate the launch on Wednesday, from 1pm. They will play tracks from the new album before a second performance at HMV’s Manchester store at 6pm.
