Kenny Dixon J. better known by his stage name Moodymann, is an American musician based in Detroit, Michigan. He is the owner of the record labels Mahogani Music and KDJ Records. He is a member of 3 Chairs. In 1997, Moodymann released his debut album, Silentintroduction, on Planet E Communications. It compiled the previously released tracks from his own KDJ Records. He released Mahogany Brown in 1998, Forevernevermore in 2000, and Silence in the Secret Garden in 2003.

Moodymann has uploaded a track from a new album due out on Mahogani Music in June. The track is called "Got Me Coming Back Right Now," and it features Amp Dog Knights, the band led by fellow Detroiter (and frequent collaborator) Amp Fiddler. It's also included on the B-side from his latest 12-inch, Pitch Black City Reunion, which is out now on his label KDJ. There are no other details about the LP, except that it's scheduled for release in June.
