The Cosmic Rough Riders are an alternative rock band from Glasgow, Scotland. They were originally formed in 1998 by Daniel Wylie and Stephen Fleming, and later they were joined by Mark Brown, James Clifford and Paul Docherty. To date they have recorded five albums, and had four singles in the UK Top 40. They self-released the albums Deliverance (1999) and Panorama (2000), both having been recorded in a community funded recording studio located in Glasgow's Castlemilk housing scheme.

As for the two versions of the "Because You" single that accompany the second LP, To Close to See Far, by this Scottish pop quartet, the two non-LP tracks on the first version, "The Game," with its very restrained guitar (and more bass), and the acoustic track "Come Closer," are both quite reminiscent of early Crosby, Stills & Nash -. especially the latter tune, which is a dead ringer for CSN (see if you can tell the difference!!!).
