Kraftwerk (German:, lit. "power station") is a German band formed in Düsseldorf in 1970 by Ralf Hütter and Florian Schneider. Widely considered as innovators and pioneers of electronic music, they were among the first successful acts to popularize the genre.
Album Name Tone Float. 版公司 RCA Records Victor Entertainment. Recorded (Bootleg) when the band’s name was ORGANISATION. Re-Issue in 1994 with a bonus live television recording of Kraftwerk.
Kraftwerk 2 is the second studio album by German electronic band Kraftwerk, released in January 1972. Kraftwerk 2 was entirely written and performed by founding Kraftwerk members Ralf Hütter and Florian Schneider in late 1971, with the sessions produced by the influential Konrad "Conny" Plank.
The first three albums by Kraftwerk, Kraftwerk 1, Kraftwerk 2 and Ralf & Florian are out of print, as is Tone Float, the album which Hütter and Schneider recorded as part of the group Organisation. Hütter and Schneider have allegedly talked about seeing these albums released, but have certainly not rushed to do so. Possibly this is because the image and sound of these albums is very different from the Kraftwerk material which followed. Speaking about the album Techno Pop which Kraftwerk started work on as the follow-up to the 1981 album Computer World, no, this album was never put together. However, work on this project was interrupted a number of times, not least by a cycling accident which befell Ralf Hütter. As a result of these interruptions, Techno Pop was aborted and the material reworked.
Tone Float is the debut album of Organisation, a pioneering Kraut band around Florian Schneider and Ralf Hutter who would continue as Kraftwerk after this sole Organisation release. The album doesn't betray any of their future electronic music but is a pure experimental Kraut album with massive amounts of percussion, psych organs, flutes and violin
Tone Float is a very unusual record for 1969. There is no blues-rock, no guitar solo, and no catchy single hit at all. Though it contains some familiar parts, it is not easy to classify. And there is some flute and violin, sometimes played in a jazzy way. But suddenly the music leads into a percussion inferno, where the drum set sounds like kettledrums, with heavy gongs echoing, bells tinkling, and instruments altered past recognition. There are no common song structures; the tracks develop slowly and this.
