The Chi-Lites were a Chicago-based smooth soul vocal quartet from the early 1970s, one of the few from the period to not come from Memphis or Philadelphia. They were led by Eugene Record, and scored eleven Top Ten R&B hits, in the early part of the decade. The group formed in the late 1950s when The Chanteurs (Record, Robert "Squirrel" Lester, and Clarence Johnson) teamed up with Marshall Thompson and Creadel "Red" Jones to form The Hi-lites.

The disc will play perfectly without interruption and the case, inlay notes and sleeve may show limited signs of wear. The only moan that I have about this album is the fact that my favourite song "The Coldest Days of my Life" which was issued as a 'single', consisted of both Part One and Part Two of the same song on opposite sides of the record. I think the total running time was in the region of ten minuets for both sides. Sadly, the album has just included Part One of this song listed as Track Four on the . It is such a shame that both parts of this great song were not included. Otherwise, a really nice, nostalgic rememberance of a wonderful '70's Soul Group.
