Passages is a collaborative chamber music studio album co-composed by Ravi Shankar and Philip Glass, released in 1990 through Private Music. Consisting of arrangements by each of the composers around themes written by the other, the album's content is a hybrid of Hindustani classical music and Glass' distinct American minimal contemporary classical style. The album reached a peak position of number three on Billboard's Top World Music Albums chart.
Living in the Past is a double album quasi-compilation collection by Jethro Tull, which contains album tracks, out-takes, the "Life's a Long Song" EP, and all of their non-LP singles except for "Sunshine Day"/"Aeroplane" (1968), "One for John Gee" (b-side of "A Song for Jeffrey", 1968), "17" (b-side of "Sweet Dream", 1969) and the original version of "Teacher" that appeared in the UK as the b-side of "The Witch's Promise" in 1969 (the re-recorded 1970 one that was released on the American versio.

Acoustics EP. by yvette young. supported by. Sven B. Schreiber. Schreiber Although this "Acoustics EP" sounds quite different from its sucessor, "Acoustics EP 2", it's no less beautiful. It's much more stripped down, featuring guitar and vocals only most of the time, plus violin on the last track. Another great solo work by "Covet" mastermind Yvette Young. Candytuft Nostalgic, comforting, bright.
raise your hands if you're sure Punk niggas shatter like a glass jaw, break it. My rhyme gross weight vehicle combination Was too heavy for the Chevy's, is chased out the station Double-edged was the guillotine that beheaded it Gassed up, fuckin' with some regular unleaded shit Heads roll on hillsides behind ropes that Bind-in, X marks the spot on the scope Heavily armed, military is necessary, it's a gamble MC. Well, if you livin' in the world today You be hearin' the slang that the Wu-Tang say Niggas that front we don't handle 'em So we blast 'em, alright, well okay. So I flipped it and said: Well if you’re living in the world today, you’ll be listening to the slang that the Wu-Tang say. and so on. It’s just another old-school hook we took and had some fun with.
How does an instant album become an underrated minor masterpiece? George Harrison 's follow-up to the triple-disc All Things Must Pass (which had been comprised of an immense backlog of great songs that he'd built up across the last years of his time with the Beatles ), Living in the Material World was necessarily a letdown for fans and critics, appearing as it did.
The album opens brilliantly with the hit single, Give Me Love (Give Me Peace on Earth), a strong, short-phrased melody whose lyrics are sheer exhortation with an Om chorus. It’s every bit as good as My Sweet Lord. Sue Me, Sue You Blues is a biting slide-guitar showcase for Harrison, its lyric a clever Lennonist diatribe against such monetary quarrels as those that ended the Beatles: Bring your lawyer/And I’ll bring mine/Get together, and we could have a bad time. In its special way, Living in the Material World is as personal and confessional a work as the first John Lennon album, though it is not nearly so intellectually provocative. Despite the occasional use of psychedelic puns, Harrison’s lyrics are so guileless they convey an extraordinary sincerity that transcends questions of craftsmanship.
I got born into the material world Getting worn out in the material world Use my body like a car, Taking me both near and far Met my friends all in the material world. Met them all there in the material world John and Paul here in the material world Though we started out quite poor We got 'Richie' on a tour Got caught up in the material world. From the Spiritual Sky, Such sweet memories have I To the Spiritual Sky How I pray Yes I pray that I won't get lost or go astray. While I'm living in the material world Not much 'giving' in the material world Got a lot of work to do Try to get a message through And get back out of this material world. I'm living in the material world Living in the material world I hope to get out of this place by the LORD SRI KRSNA'S GRACE My salvation from the material world Big Ending. Writer(s): GEORGE HARRISON.
The spiritual nature of Living In The Material World, described by Rolling Stone as miraculous in its radiance, is also reflected in the inclusion of an illustration from the Bhagavad-Gita in the artwork.
