being from baltimore this record was the best thing to come from my city to give house love. it was jacked by others who made house music and that showed how strong the music was. nothing but love for this record!!!!!!!!

I found this 12" in a dumpster in an alley in Chicago's south loop in 1993.Earlier that week, while we walked to our place on South Michigan avenue after parking the car within earshot, we were accosted by a middle-aged black man whose perambulatory approach was unforgettable; he was waddling slowly toward us, urinating as he did so, feet splayed far enough to avoid the hot stream but not so far that he couldn't walk forward. He solicited us for money, I don't recall the exact words, and when we replied in the negative he replied "...well... Fuck You Den! I'm'o get some dope! I'm a real-ass Niggah!" Refreshingly honest.This late-night meeting, and the initial listening of this 12" by DEM NIGGAS are fused in my memory as complimentary experiences. Unlike the "Real-Ass Niggah" who accosted us, DEM NIGGAS' "Git the hole" could not be accused of honesty, but only because it is a triumph in economy as the paucity of lyrical content attests to. What makes this notably unremarkable release borderline noteworthy is the exceptionally low level of effort, even in a genre in which the powering-on of audio equipment is the greatest exertion after the paying of the studio management, unless the recording services are extorted which is not unlikely given those involved.The Poneromusicological sub-study of Hybristomusicology, the music of criminals and their agents, is, herein, the assumed "given" of "those involved" and while criminals are expected to be long on the take and short on the give, this recording exhibits an exceptional minimalism rivaled only by Reich's "music for pieces of wood" in the stark desolation of its (electro-acoustic) arrangement. A single. Interminably. Uunchanging.drum-machine/synth-bass loop four beats in duration is peppered, apparently randomly, by 3 or 4 verbal samples of an imbecilic and loathesome sentiment : "Git The Hole (x2) / Two DollAH".I can't defend the fact that I sold my "Cop" 12" by SWANS but I still hav THIS record.Oh.Yes, I can; "Cop" has a value.

The big problem with this amazing record is the sound quality. The whole Ep is house music but definitely its hardcore side. I think to the minimalist & repetitive jackin side of house music. It's the kind of stuff that makes the crowd crazy in a good party. Imagine the sound remastered with todays's technologies quality, this would be devastating.
