This is the fourth in the series of solo percussion and effects records that Vladimir Tarasov, ex- of the late great Ganelin Trio, has so bravely put forth in the culturally staid climate of free improv records that say more about musicians than they do music. This volume is, in his own words, a contemplative setting, all of it recorded on the spot with no overdubs or fixes in front of a small audience. Tarasov uses his well-beaten drum kit, homemade and found percussion instruments, his infamous hunting horn, and various electronic devices to control both atmosphere and tensions.

Vladimir Tarasov (b 1947) has been an active free jazz figure and multidiciplinary artist since late 60's, first in Soviet Union, Lithuania and later Worldwide. Atto is one of Tarasov's long evolving experimental music projects. It was first released by Soviet Melodija label in 1990. Tarasov ss percussion merges with the hypnotically repetative synth sequence into one long piece. All instruments are played by Tarasov himself.
