Me Against the World is the third studio album by American rapper 2Pac, released on March 14, 1995 by Out Da Gutta/Interscope Records. Drawing lyrical inspiration from his impending prison sentence, troubles with the police, and poverty, the album is described as being 2Pac's most introspective album.

'Me Against the World'' album was released on March 14, 1995 by Interscope Records. The album was 2Pac's reflections at one of the most difficult points in his life. Perhaps as a result of these circumstances, Me Against the World has become known to many as the most incendiary of Shakur’s releases, expressing an intensely personal mix of emotions and reactions to the events of his life. Many believe this album to be the pinnacle of gangster rap albums.

Me Against the World was deep, reflective. It was like a blues record. It was all my fears, all the things I just couldn’t sleep about. Everybody thought that I was living so well and doing so good that I wanted to explain it. And it took a whole album to get it all out. It’s explaining my lifestyle, who I am, my upbringing and everything. It talks about the streets but talks about it in a different light.

Sonically speaking, Me Against The World borrowed from the vintage sounds of musical legends such as Minnie Riperton, Sly & The Family Stone, Stevie Wonder, Roger and Larry Troutman of Zapp & Roger, Burt Bacharach, George Clinton and Michael Jackson. Meanwhile, beats were provided by a bevy of notable producers, including Digital Underground’s Shock G, Easy Mo Bee and Tony Pizarro. While 2Pac was locked up, the album surpassed Bruce Springsteen’s Greatest Hits as the best-selling album in the United States.
