Live at the Greek Theatre is the fourteenth live album by American blues rock musician Joe Bonamassa. The album was recorded on August 29, 2015 at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles and released by J&R Adventures on Blue-ray, DVD and CD on September 23, 2016. This album is a tribute to the "three Kings" : Freddie King (songs 1 to 6 of CD 1 and 8 of CD 2), Albert King (songs 7 to 11 of CD 1 and 1 and 9 of CD 2) and especially BB King (Songs 1 to 7 and 10 and 11 of CD 2), who was a mentor for young Bonamassa.
Joe Bonamassa Honors The Three Kings on ‘Live At The Greek Theatre’ CD/DVD/Blu-ray/LP, out Sept. 23. Over two hours of some of the greatest blues songs ever written are highlighted in a celebration of blues heritage. King, and Freddie King. Bonamassa’s most recent studio album, Blues of Desperation, released March 25, marks his 16th Blues album on the Billboard charts, more than any other artist, and landed at on the Billboard Top Album Sales, his highest charting yet. The tour concluded with a show at the venerable Los Angeles venue the Greek Theatre, in which Bonamassa and his band treated the audience to a night of classic blues standards. A mobile recording studio and a camera crew were on hand to capture the performance, and Live at the Greek Theatre (released on CD, LP, DVD, and Blu-ray) documents the event, in which one of the 21st century's top guitarists demonstrates how much he learned from the masters.
