Album (also known as Compact Disc or Cassette depending on the format) is the fifth album by the English rock band Public Image Ltd, released on 27 January 1986. A departure from their previous releases, John Lydon was advised by trusted music producer Bill Laswell to take on an all-star cast of session and trusted musicians, including Steve Vai, Ryuichi Sakamoto, Tony Williams and Ginger Baker. The resulting album gave PiL one of its highest charting songs, "Rise".

The third disc is 12-inch mixes and the fourth CD features unreleased tracks and mixes. The final audio disc is a July 1989 live concert at New York Ritz. The two DVDs complete the set and have loads of content, including 21 promo videos, footage from Top of the Pops and The Old Grey Whistle Test and two further live concerts. The boxes include a 72-page book, poster, prints and come packaged in a debossed black and gold foil box. In preparing their debut album, Public Image: First Issue, the band spent their recording budget well before the record was completed. Flipper retaliated by naming their next album, Public Flipper Limited. To tour Album in 1986, Lydon recruited former Magazine and Siouxsie and the Banshees guitarist John McGeoch, world music t (and former Damned guitarist) Lu Edmunds, bass guitarist Allan Dias, and former The Pop Group and The Slits drummer Bruce Smith.
