Fiddler on the Roof is a musical with music by Jerry Bock, lyrics by Sheldon Harnick, and book by Joseph Stein, set in the Pale of Settlement of Imperial Russia in 1905. It is based on Tevye and his Daughters (or Tevye the Dairyman) and other tales by Sholem Aleichem. The story centers on Tevye, the father of five daughters, and his attempts to maintain his Jewish religious and cultural traditions as outside influences encroach upon the family's lives.
First National Tour Version (1966). The award-winning tale of Tevye the Dairyman and his family’s struggles in a changing Russia is a true musical theatre tradition. Winner of nine Tony Awards when it debuted in 1964, Fiddler on the Roof is the brainchild of Broadway legends, Jerome Robbins and Harold Prince; songwriters, Jerry Bock and Sheldon Harnick; and bookwriter, Joseph Stein. Touching audiences worldwide with its humor, warmth and honesty, this universal show is a staple of the musical theatre canon. The file will not open.

Let me say this right of the bat: while this film may focus on a Jewish family and their struggle to enter the modern world (which may be good or bad), you certainly do not need to be Jewish to enjoy it. I always felt like this film (and "Yentl") were marketed towards the Jewish community, but it need not be. It is just a great story with excellent songs. there was really nothing I disliked about it. I was a bit surprised the eldest daughter was not Barbra Streisand, because they look identical.
Post Title (optional) Constipated in public toilet! I'm sitting on the toilet, at some public toilets near my house. I'm very constipated, as usual and I've already spent 45 minutes pushing and striaing with all my might! Now I'm having a rest and I've got 3 inches of dry, rock hard poo sticking out of my anus. I just heard a plop go into the toilet. I wonder of they are constipated too? I need to concentrate on getting this monster turd out so I will come back later and let you all know how I went.
Not so, quoth I; let baser things devise To die in dust, but you shall live by fame; My verse your virtues rare shall eternize, And in the heavens write your glorious name: Where, when as Death shall all the world subdue, Our love shall live, and later life renew. About One Day I Wrote Her Name upon the Strand. Edmund Spenser’s 75th sonnet. Amoretti translates as little notes or little cupids.
