Clive Langer (born 19 June 1954 in Hampstead, London, England) is an English record producer and songwriter, active from the mid-1970s onwards. He usually works with Alan Winstanley. He composed the music for the films Still Crazy and Brothers of the Head. Prior to his record producing career he was a guitarist with the British cult band Deaf School. Langer sometimes performed under the alias of 'Cliff Hanger', and his production work was sometimes attributed to 'Clanger'

Immediately after the song is recorded, Bowie and Jagger film a music video for the song with director David Mallet at the London Docklands, which is completed in only four hours. Produced by Clive Langer and Alan Winstanley. it is recorded at AIR Studios in London from January - April 1983. Following the critically acclaimed and musically eclectic Imperial Bedroom, Elvis Costello will go back to a more straight ahead pop music sound, working with producers Langer and Winstanley (Madness, Dexys Midnight Runners).
