Album · 1967 · 10 Songs. Like 1966's In My Life, Wildflowers features dramatic orchestral arrangements by Joshua Rifkin and songs by exciting new voices on the folk scene. A lush, string-driven version of Joni Mitchell's "Both Sides Now" amplifies the song's melancholy tone, while a soothing take on Leonard Cohen's "Hey, That's No Way to Say Goodbye" closes the set on a warm note. But Collins' first self-penned songs, like the naturalistic "Sky Fell" and the gently haunting "Since You Asked," are among the strongest material here
Judy Collins' "Wildflowers" is a classic album released in 1969, and is Judy at her finest.
Judith Marjorie Collins (born May 1, 1939) is an American singer and songwriter known for her eclectic tastes in the material she records (which has included folk, show tunes, pop, rock and roll and standards) and for her social activism. Collins' debut album A Maid of Constant Sorrow was released in 1961, but it was her cover of Joni Mitchell's "Both Sides, Now", the lead single from her 1967 album Wildflowers, that gave Collins international prominence.
