Orchid is the debut studio album by Swedish progressive metal band Opeth, released on May 15, 1995 in Europe by Candlelight Records, and on June 24, 1997 in the United States by Century Black. It was reissued in 2000 with one bonus track called "Into the Frost of Winter", an early unproduced rehearsal recording by the band. The recording sessions occurred at the old Unisound studio, in Finspång with production by Opeth alongside Dan Swanö.

Heretic again comes with the stunning artwork by singer Theo Mindell who professionally works as a tattoo artist at his own tattoo parlor, Spider Murphy's Tattoo, and is the perfect appetizer for ORCHIDs label debut full-length which is planned to released early 2013. Late in 2010, after we submitted the „Capricorn full length to our label and waited for the release, we realized that there wouldn’t be any extensive touring, so we just kept writing and rehearsing new material.
