Sven-Olof Sandberg was a journalist, lyricist, and both a singer for the main stream and for the opera during his life. In the later part of his life, Sven-Olof Sandberg was also given the opportunity to perform as a singer in the new TV media of the 1960s in Sweden. He had earlier had several, similar experiences as performer of soundtracks in different Swedish movies. He even tried to start a professional movie career as actor in 1923, but he soon gave up that idea. Sven-Olof Sandberg released his first recording in 1927
