Pink Floyd - Obscured By Clouds (1972).

It is based on their soundtrack for the French film La Vallée, by Barbet Schroeder. It was recorded in two sessions in France, while they were in the midst of touring, and produced by the band members. The album is noticeably shorter than some of their previous material, and makes heavy use of the acoustic guitar.

The album’s title references the film’s titular valley, a region the protagonists are trying to reach that is yet uncharted as planes couldn’t see the land, permanently obscured by clouds. Bookended by the highly-regarded Meddle and The Dark Side Of The Moon, this album tends to be overlooked, as it was all written, composed, recorded and produced in a matter of weeks

The album's cover was, like several other Pink Floyd albums, designed by Hipgnosis. It consists of a photograph of a man sitting in a tree which has been taken out of focus to the point of complete distortion. Obscured by Clouds was released in the UK on 2 June 1972 and then in the United States on 15 June 1972, both on Harvest.
