Live Cream (also called Live Cream, Volume 1) is a live compilation album by the British rock band Cream, released in 1970. This album comprises four live tracks recorded in 1968 and one studio track "Lawdy Mama" from 1967. The instrumental track for "Lawdy Mama" is the same as heard on "Strange Brew" with a different vocal and guitar solo by Eric Clapton. Live Cream hit No. 15 on the Billboard 200, and made No. 4 on the UK Top 40.

Live Cream Volume II is the second live album by the British rock band Cream, released in March 1972 by Polydor Records (Atco Records in the US). This album contains six tracks recorded at various performances from 9 March to 4 October 1968.

On the other UK version: Live Cream, they are on one line. 1970 All the selections were recorded live, with the exception of "Lawdy Mama" which is a studio recording. LAWDY MAMA was produced by Ahmet Ertegun & Robert Stigwood. All the other selections were produced by Felix Pappalardi. Cream is excellent band but always you can't get it right, like this album. When you listen it carefully you notice that vocalist is out of tune. I think the guitar work is a uniform thickness and repetitive in place, it lacks all the highlights. Not everything can be put on a live recording, the reason. I'am disappointed in this album. Reply Notify me Helpful.

Released in April 1970 and derived from tapes made at three May 1968 California shows, all of the live tracks here consist of songs originally featured on the group's least ambitious and most rudimentary album, Fresh Cream, dating from 1966 - and as it happens, there's not a hit represented among the five songs, a fact that probably made this.

Cream was one of the first power trios to take the world by storm, combining Eric Clapton's flawless guitar playing, Jack Bruce’s jazz-influenced bass and vocal might, and Ginger Baker’s amazing drumming. To make it easy for you, we haven't included Cream singles, EPs, or compilations, so everything you see here should only be studio and live Cream albums. Two years later, the trio released Wheels of Fire (1968), which became the first ever platinum double album. If you want to know the best Cream album of all time, this list will answer your question. Albums range from Fresh Cream (1966) to Goodbye (1969).

Cream were a good little band that originated a hell of a lot of projects and created a great deal of brilliant musical ideas. What did they do, exactly, for me to rate them above Led Zeppelin? Well, first of all, they plain and simple invented hard rock. The album itself is double, with one disc full of new studio recordings and the other one live. The album cover is similar to the Gears cover, but worse: the fantastic colour brilliancy of that one is reduced to a sloppy greyishness here (at least, that's what it looks like on the CD release: strange enough, the cover as shown in the Fresh Live Cream movie is just as radiant and lush. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that at the time of release the album was also being sold as two separate records - the live one and the studio one, with two different covers).
