War Plague operate in a very, very strange niche in the metal scene- I can't tell who the appropriate listener of their music would be. They're a black/grind project that uses a drum machine and hinges on a violent, almost noisecore delivery- it would be open and shut if it weren't so paradoxically riffy and musical at the same time. Later material by the band resolves this to some degree, but 'Government Issued Murder' tends to be more bluster than content, even if the mastery of the aesthetic displayed is pretty exciting for the first few spins. Ultimately, though, this is more curiosity piece than long-lasting record, and unless you're particularly fascinated with the more extreme edges of black/grind, you likely don't need this.

The songs are so hyperfast that the enitre 6-song EP was included on one 7" with full-color jacket and artwork.
