Paul Godwin (1902 – 1982) was a violinist and the leader of a popular German dance orchestra in the 1920s-30s. He was born on March 28, 1902, in Sosnowitz (Russian Empire; now Poland), his real name was Pinchas Goldfein. Paul Godwin (pseudonym of Pinchas Goldfein); (Sosnowiec, 1902 - March 28, Three mountains, 9 december 1982), was a Polish-Dutch violinist, violist and conductor. The young Pinchas Goldfein studied violin in Warsaw, where he was a pupil of the violinist and composer Stanislaw Barcewicz. Via Vienna and Budapest, where his teacher was Jenő Hubay, he ended up in 1920 inBerlin.
