The next release, Strop (1996), saw Battery 9 break through to a wider audience, with the song "Kiss the Machine" receiving daytime airplay and eventually charting on 5FM, a major nationwide commercial radio station  . Riekert started recording under the name Battery 9 in 1994, bored with the creative constraints of a standard rock band format.

Gris biography GRIS is a two-person act founded in Quebec, Canada in 2006. Originally they were known as NIFLHEIM but soon changed their name to their current moniker. Playing a cold, desolate style of depressive black metal, particularly on the performer's debut release in 2006, Neurasthnie, the band soon began experimenting more with more varied instrumentation, atmosphere and dynamics. Song lengths continue to stretch for longer duration, and stronger progressive tendencies continue to emerge with numerous passages steering away from typical metal to embrace folk and classical influences
