I have a few of the resonance records ORTF recordings on CD (Grant green, Larry young, wes montgomery) and they sound fantastic. I love AAA vinyl, but I just can't afford to get everything I want on vinyl (money and space).

The Live in Atlantic City reissue brings back a 1966 recording of Hodges sitting in with Wild Bill Davis' quartet in a small Atlantic City jazz bistro. The results are refreshing, catching Hodges in a relaxed setting. Longtime playing pals, Hodges had been sitting in with Davis' group every time Ellington came to town. The record is just about as casually swinging as you could imagine it being, the soloing all coming from a relaxed but buoyant atmosphere.

Which makes Live in Paris: The ORTF Recordings 1966–67 all the sweeter. Consisting of previously unreleased performances by Nathan Davis, the album gives us five more sides of recordings with Davis as a leader during his European years (the third platter is one-sided on this three-LP set). And those tapes that went unheard for half a century ended up in the best of hands. One of Davis' best known musical associations was heading the Paris Reunion Band (1985-1989), which at different times included Nat Adderley, Kenny Drew, Johnny Griffin, Slide Hampton, Joe Henderson, Idris Muhammad, Dizzy Reece, Woody Shaw, and Jimmy Woode Davis composed various pieces, including a 2004 opera entitled Just Above My Head.
