Erik Jan Hanussen, born Hermann Steinschneider (2 June 1889, in Vienna – 25 March 1933, in Berlin), was an Austrian Jewish publicist, charlatan and clairvoyant performer. Acclaimed in his lifetime as a hypnotist, mentalist, occultist, and astrologer, Hanussen was active in Weimar Republic Germany and also at the beginning of Nazi Germany. He is said to have instructed Adolf Hitler in performance and the achievement of dramatic effect.
In "Hanussen" he tells the very gripping story of a man who predicts Hitler's advancement. It was a most interesting film and I was a bit disturbed afterwards because they didn't make it quite clear whether it's based on a true story or not. However, watch this movie. It's also a great performance by Klaus Maria Brandauer.
Hanussen, also known as Erik Jan Hanussen (2 June 1889, Vienna - after 25 March 1933, Berlin), was an Austrian Jewish stage. Erik Jan Hanussen added 6 new photos to the album Hanussen.
Hanussen (1988 film). Hanussen is a 1988 Hungarian film about Erik Jan Hanussen by István Szabó.
Erik Jan Hanussen is a villain of the Fullmetal Alchemist movie Conqueror of Shamballa. He was a clairvoyant who instructed Adolf Hitler in performance and the achievement of dramatic effect (despite being Jewish). He only appears during a scene at the carnival where he meets Noah. The other female Gypsies give her to Erik so he can hand her over to the Thule Society. She is able to escape from the men and hid underneath a cloth covering Ed and Alfons' rocket on the truck they arrived in.
Hanussen movie trailer, synopsis and cast information. Based on a true story, Istvan Szabo's Hanussen centers on an Austrian soldier (Klaus Maria Brandauer) who becomes clairvoyant after he is shot in the head during World War I. He is able to read minds and predict the future. Before long, he has foreseen Hitler and the Nazis' rise to power, and he soon finds himself in danger. Hanussen is the third of Szabo and Brandauer's collaborations, following Mephisto and Colonel Redl.
What is Hanussen's future? . After the war, with one friend as his manager and another as his lover, Schneider changes his name to Eric Jan Hanussen and goes to Berlin, as a hypnotist and clairvoyant performing in halls and theaters. He always speaks the truth, which brings him to the attention of powerful Nazis. He predicts their rise (good propaganda for them) and their violence (not so good).
