1991 saw the release of Vicious Rumors' fourth album, Welcome to the Ball. This recording received Bay Area Music Awards nominations for "Best New Metal Album" and "Outstanding Metal Album" (other nominees included Metallica and Tesla). Their second MTV video, "Children", went beyond the exposure normally limited to metal bands on Headbangers Ball. It received regular daytime air play After a 1992 tour with label-mates Savatage.
