Electro-Soma is the debut album by British electronic music duo B12. It was released on Warp on 29 March 1993 and is the fourth release in Warp's Artificial Intelligence series. Some album tracks had been previously released on the band's own B12 Record label using their pseudonyms Musicology, Redcell, and Cmetric. The vinyl release includes the exclusive track "Drift", but excludes the tracks "Debris", "Satori", and "Static Emotion", present on the CD release.

Electro-Soma was compiled by Warp co-founder Rob Mitchell from a range of tracks produced under different aliases by the group, and originally released as. .returns offering us a timeless classic within the lineage of both Warp and UK electronic music as a whole. 7 Baltic & Prucnel – The Nucleus Of The Planet. Bambooman – Whispers.

Electro-Soma II is essentially more of the same, which still means that it's a fascinating listen for anyone interested in the early days of ambient techno. Debris" is a lengthy sci-fi rocket-ship journey, which sounds tense and uncertain until its celebratory end section.

Horrible mastering job (AGAIN) by 'Precise Mastering'. So incredibly compressed and LOUD. Mastered for people who like to listen to music on a cell phone while driving a convertible and eating potato chips all at the same time. Honestly, it ruins both of the albums. The previous B12 'Archive' series back in 2008-9 had the exact same problem. And would you like to guess who mastered those releases? Precise Mastering, of course. It would be best to avoid this release and find yourself some of the original CDs as those all sound superb.

TRUE DAT! they pushed the buttons bit too far .

I like the album and have spent most of today with it on as background for while I'm working, but I have to say it's a bit forgettable, there's nothing which stands out to make it rise about a lot of other semi ambient beats and drones.

Well I bought part 2 on vinyl with the great artwork and a lot of previously unreleased tracks on vinyl. I think it's awesome. Highlights for me: Kaxaia-80, Satori and Go With The Hiss. Not forgettable!
