Reginald Herbert Dixon, MBE, ARCM (16 October 1904 – 9 May 1985) was an English theatre organist who was primarily known for his position as organist at the Tower Ballroom, Blackpool, a position he held from March 1930 until March 1970. He made and sold more recordings than any other organist before him, or since.
Listen to the biggest hits from Reginald Dixon, including Medley: With My Eyes Wide Open I'm Dreaming/If/I Never Had a Chance, Marital Moments No. 2 with Sword (Interpolating Namur), Little Girl/As Time Goes By/When I Take My Sugar to Tea, and more on Slacker Radio. Two years later, the Sacramento trio has evolved into a dependably provocative unit that operates at the nexus of punk rock, live electronics and barking energy raps. After a Best New Artist Grammy and the well-received Radio Music Society, bassist-composer Esperanza Spalding could have certainly carved out a perfectly mellow career as America's virtuosic ambassador between contemporary jazz, neo-soul and pop music.
This is a rare occurrence: An album is hyped up to be absolutely fantastic, delivers on its promise, and everyone seems to agree. Revel in this, because who knows when AOTY. org will ever see something like it again. I didn't get any sleep thanks to this fuckin' album.
