Silence Of The North is centred around improvised recordings from a late 1970s Yamaha grand piano. The album can be seen as an imaginary soundtrack inspired by the nature of the Northern Hemisphere. After around three hours of recording with the grand piano in the middle of the night, the material has been whittled down to around 30 pieces including a main theme which tells a story much like a movie. With the piano at the heart of everything, the sound is naturally cinematic and references colder climes. Written and recorded in September 2015 by Frank Baker in Würzburg, Germany. Produced, mixed and mastered between January and February 2016 by Frank Baker at Studio III in The Five Valleys City, Germany.
The Silence of the Lambs is a novel by Thomas Harris. First published in 1988, it is the sequel to Harris' 1981 novel Red Dragon. Both novels feature the cannibalistic serial killer Dr. Hannibal Lecter, this time pitted against FBI Special Agent Clarice Starling. Its film adaptation directed by Jonathan Demme was released in 1991 to box office success and critical acclaim.

This movie is well worth watching and owning. away from the city and it's polluted air, foods, medications, allergies and live more like people did, that come from earlier North America.

After around three hours of recording with the grand piano in the middle of the night, the material has been whittled down to around 30 pieces including a main theme which tells a story much like a movie. With the piano at the heart of everything, the sound is naturally cinematic and references colder climes. The main idea was to record an album that characterises silence and whilst the lonely old piano would evoke that alone, the added sound design featuring live played piano strings, cavernous noise and backing sounds delve further into the ideas of loneliness, isolation and silence. With its clear film soundtrack aesthetic, it would be all too easy to reference Modern Classical music – but it is pointed out that this is not a piano album because the instrument has been used to paint a picture with notes and noises. So it has more to do with Ambient music than Modern Classical.—
