All of Johnny Rivers top hits and you won't find any fillers in this CD. All selections are great from " Secret agent man " to " Seventh son ". He even does music from his " Whisky a go-go club " appearances in Hollywood in the seventies, up on Sunset Strip. Johnny Rivers was known more for the three big hits he had, Memphis, Secret Agent Man, Rockin' Pnumonia And The Boogie Woogie Flu. The rest of the songs on this disc were originally recorded by other artists, but it is a good set of songs. I wonder whose ten greatest Johnny Rivers songs these are. Fortunately, the album ends with Rivers' best, "Rockin' Pneumonia," and with the superb audio quality, it ended on a very high note. One person found this helpful.

Johnny, influenced by the distinctive Louisiana musical style, began playing guitar at the age of eight, taught by his father and uncle. While still in junior high school he started sitting in with a band called the Rockets, led by Dick Holler, who later wrote a number of songs including "Abraham, Martin and John" and the novelty song, "Snoopy vs. the Red Baron". Ramistella formed his own band, the Spades, and made his first record at 14, while still a student at Baton Rouge High School. Some of their music was recorded on the Suede label as early as 1956.
