Richard Buckminster Fuller (/ˈfʊlər/; July 12, 1895 – July 1, 1983) was an American architect, systems theorist, author, designer, inventor and futurist. Fuller published more than 30 books, coining or popularizing terms such as "Spaceship Earth", "Dymaxion" house/car, ephemeralization, synergetic, and "tensegrity". He also developed numerous inventions, mainly architectural designs, and popularized the widely known geodesic dome

Throughout his life, Fuller was concerned with the question of whether humanity has a chance to survive lastingly and successfully on planet Earth, and if so, how. Considering himself an average individual without special monetary means or academic degree, he chose to devote his life to this question, trying to find out what an individual like him could do to improve humanity's condition that large organizations, governments, or private enterprises inherently could not d. One of the most powerful influences on R. Buckminster Fuller was a pair of glasses he obtained as he was entering kindergarten in 1900. They were to become his trademark. In the 1940s he recognized the emergence of an invisible reality which could be perceived only by the mind. In the 1970s Fuller realized that it was now possible to provide a very high standard of living for all mankind, making resource-wars obsolete.

Richard Buckminster "Bucky" Fuller was an American architect, systems theorist, author, designer, and inventor. This is slightly misleading, however, as Fuller's geodesic domes are constructed only by further dividing hexagons or pentagons into triangles, which are then deformed by moving vertices radially outward to fit the surface of a sphere. Geometrically speaking, is a naturally-occurring example of a Goldberg polyhedron. Buckminster Fuller Collection: Architect, Systems Theorist, Designer, and Inventor. Standford University. Fuller, R. Buckminster (Richard Buckminster), 1895-1983. A limited number of items are shown. Adaptation (Biology). Synergy there's not enough for all. The mathematician & the straight line; The thinkable non-experience - Reductio ad absurdum; The deliberately non -straight line. Euler and pattern - History and folklore of science. Animate and inanimate: The overlapping; Scientists and models. Darwin and general adaptability; computer, the anti-body.
