Soulside (or "Soul Side") were a hardcore punk outfit from the greater Washington, . area, formed in spring 1986 and disbanded in summer of 1989. The group disbanded after an extensive European tour and recording the definative Hot Bodi-Gram. The group's sound could be described as clean, heavy, and warm, with lyrics focused on politics.

Soulside Journey is the first studio album by Norwegian black metal band Darkthrone. It was released 13 January 1991 by Peaceville Records. It is notable as the band's only death metal album, before they became an integral part of the Norwegian black metal scene. The band's drummer, Fenriz, used the nickname "Hank Amarillo"

This is a great album for sure, but it does not sound like Darkthrone. It sounded like an old school death metal record to me. I almost forgot I was listening to Darkthrone when I was midway through the album. That does not make it bad by any means. I actually quite enjoyed this album and somewhat wish they had more death metal releases. Another popular song on Soulside Journey is Accumulation of Generalization. It is mostly an instrumental but it has some growls without lyrics that fill in some spots of the song. This was a pretty great album and I think it deserves an 18/20. Soulside Formed in 1986, Soul Side was Bobby Sullivan, Scott McCloud, Johnny Temple, and Alexis Fleisig. Based in Washington, DC, the group toured extensively in the US and Europe and released an EP, a single, and a full-length record on Dischord, as well as one LP on Sammich. Members went on to perform in Girls vs. Boys and Rain Like the Sound of Trains. Otherside (Remastered 2014) This release combines Soulside's 1988 "Trigger" EP with the three song single, "Bass·103.
