Live! (Bob Marley & the Wailers album). Live! is a 1975 album by Bob Marley and the Wailers which was recorded live in concert during July 1975 at the Lyceum Theatre, London. The performance remains one of Marley's most famous. No Woman, No Cry" was released as a single. The album was recorded 17-18 July 1975 at the Lyceum Theatre, London. Danny Holloway, an Island Records employee, recorded the performances using the Rolling Stones Mobile Studio
All the way from Trenchtown, Jamaica – Bob Marley and the Wailers. So began one of the transcendent albums of the modern pop era. Live! was recorded on 18 July, 1975 at the second of two beyond-sold-out shows at the Lyceum Ballroom in London, and released in the UK on 5 December the same year. Reports of these shows at the time were couched in terms of bemused wonderment. The critic from The Times remarked on the curious odour in the air which he could not identify but which reminded him of newly-pressed shirts.
Gold is a two-disc compilation album by Bob Marley and the Wailers that was released on the Island Records label in 2005. The compilation is intended to be a career-spanning retrospective, and no fewer than two songs are selected from each of Bob Marley and the Wailers' albums with the company.
The Marley Family will now release for the first time the complete sets from both shows, Bob Marley & the Wailers - Live!, as a three-LP set in 180-gram black vinyl and as a digital package on December 16th in a tri-gatefold package that also includes a reproduction of the tour program from the band’s historic 1975 . The BBC’s Chris Jones wrote about the album in 2009: This seminal live document captures almost exactly the point where both roots reggae and Rastafarianism finally entered popular culture.
