Dry Food is a great collection of poppy tunes with an interesting dash of complex guitar. Drums also exceed expectations; awesome drops to halftime.

2013's buzzworthy Bent Nail EP introduced savvy listeners to Palehound, the musical vehicle of singer/songwriter Ellen Kempner. Wry dissections of youthful isolation like "Drooler" and "Pet Carrot" revealed an emerging artist with a compelling voice and an infatuation with '90s indie rock. Two years later, Kempner offers up Dry Food, Palehound's debut full-length on Brooklyn indie Exploding in Sound.

Palehound is an American band fronted by Ellen Kempner who have released two albums, Dry Food (2015) and A Place I'll Always Go (2017), the Bent Nail EP (2013) and a number of 7" singles. Initially a solo project, the band currently features Kempner on vocals/guitar, Jesse Weiss on drums and Larz Brogan on bass. In 2015 the band received the Boston Music Award as new artist of the year.
