The Name of the Rose is the second studio album released by the melodic hard rock band Ten. The Name of the Rose" – 8:31. Wildest Dreams" – 5:33. Pharaoh's Prelude: Ascension to the Afterlife" – 3:54. Wait For You" – 5:31. The Rainbow" – 6:03 (Gary Hughes/Zoe Hughes).
Earl Grant (January 20, 1931 – June 10, 1970) was an American pianist, organist, and vocalist popular in the 1950s and 1960s. Grant was born in Idabel, Oklahoma. Though he would be known later for his keyboards and vocals, Grant also played trumpet and drums. Grant attended four music schools, eventually becoming a music teacher. He augmented his income by performing in clubs during his army service, throughout which he was stationed in Fort Bliss, Texas
The old Earl Grant magic was there, of course. every new thing he probed. His singing, for example. Half of the songs on this album are vocals by Earl, and his style has never been better displayed. Listen, for example, to the charming salute to Nat’King’Cole that Earl worked into his vocal on Looking Back. And follow his sensitive rendition of My Cherie Amour, the Gospel feel on Oh Happy Day and the strident A Brand New Me. Bill Holman and Don Peake, brilliant West Coast arrangers, wrote the charts for Earl to romp in during these last sessions. It was Earl’s delight to include the two reggaes because he knew they were brand new,.

Television adaptation of Umberto Eco's novel 'The Name of the Rose'. Perhaps the closest counterpart to this series I can think of is 1990's production Cadfael, set in an earlier medieval period. Beyond this the acting is best described as solid to excellent from all of the cast and the stories are well told. I do think its quite an accomplishment to take a book of this kind and transform it into a series. So far The Name of the Rose looks promising.
