Phillis Wheatley, also spelled Phyllis and Wheatly (c. 1753 – December 5, 1784) was the first published African-American female poet. Born in West Africa, she was sold into slavery at the age of seven or eight and transported to North America. She was purchased by the Wheatley family of Boston, who taught her to read and write and encouraged her poetry when they saw her talent.
Wheatley’s Arcadians. Strings ain’t what they used to be. A masterclass in musicianship, musical history, and sheer enjoyment. Once upon a time jazz was fun. It didn’t turn its nose up at popular music. It hadn’t forgotten the blues and ragtime. It even shook hands with country music occasionally. Sometimes it sang silly songs and played funny instruments. It could be virtuosic without taking itself too seriously. MARTIN WHEATLEY – guitar(s), tenor guitar, 3 sorts of Hawaiian guitar, ukulele, 5-string banjo, mandolin and vocals TOM ‘SPATS’ LANGHAM – guitar, tenor banjo, ukulele and vocals MIKE PIGGOTT – violin, phono-fiddle, guitar, mandolin LOUIS THOMAS – Double Bass. CD. All Day Breakfast.
Martin Wheatley, superb solo ukulele player ideal for weddings, exhibitions & themed events. Only four strings but a huge & varied repertoire. Leader of The Hula Bluebirds and The Arcadians, Martin Wheatley came to the ukulele via Hawaiian music and has been playing the instrument since long before the current boom. Martin Wheatley's Bio. He has studied the instrument intensely and been on a working trip to the Hawaiian Islands
The character arcs are interesting to watch- Wheatley’s and GLaDOS’ being not only the most prominent, but the most interesting. They’re also related- had Wheatley not taken over Aperture, he wouldn’t have experienced GLaDOS’ body, and GLaDOS wouldn’t have discovered her humanity. And I think a lot of people peg these characters differently than who they actually are. Wheatley, like I’ve said in the past, isn’t an idiot or a moron - in fact, he is very intelligent. Chell and GLaDOS finally reached his chamber and defeated him, though he had properly prepared- but we can see that the minute GLaDOS fixes everything and Wheatley isn’t connected to her anymore, he goes back to normal. Space! We’re in space!.
Wheatley’s Song Lyrics. I've got brains to burn; no ordinary AI in this ball Every culture and philosophy, I've read up on them all I've been living in your shadow for 999999 Keeping tabs on every machination and production line. So don't call me a moron I'm super astute There is no conundrum that my core cannot compute No don't call me a moron You fostered balloon My IQ's the infinite space from here to the moon. My IQ's the infinite space from here to the moon My IQ's the infinite space from here to the moon

Wheatley did his sums. And I thought, that's not right. Shouldn't this band be paid commensurate with its drawing power?" he asked. And that night was the night that the penny dropped for me and the whole concept of & deals' came to me and I have used it ever since. Back then, the band sacked its then-manager and Wheatley took over the day to day bookings and business management. The band set up their own management company - Drum - and Wheatley's day job as manager began to grow. I shouldn't have been as naive about my personal affairs as what I was and it was a big lesson to learn in my life.
