Darlingkandie, I wonder if your name is Jason ...and you stole one of mine ? No matter, GREAT 12 inch record. Different from the cd release, more of a dance mix, Soundshock's mix is a must have! rare and worth hunting down. I still own 3 copies! one is still sealed !!! You can find it cheaper than http://www.discogs.com/sell/list?release_id=1073212&ev=rb ...just look around!

This 12" is legendary among TKK collectors, although if you ever find one, you will realize that the only thing that makes it interesting is that it's rare. The 12" has two mixes per side, each side remixed by a different artist. There's a mix with vocal samples for each, with a matching dub that drops most of the vocal samples. The "Housewarming Mixes" are reminiscent of Marc "MK" Kinchen mixes of the same era. It's a solid groove, but there's not much going on with it. I couldn't imagine the track being used as more than filler in a DJ's set, that is if it managed to catch anybody's attention at all. The "Soulshock" mixes on the flip side offer two breaks tracks, again they're pretty much identical except for the use of the vocal samples. There's some interesting filter stuff going on with these mixes, but again--nothing that will get anybody worked up. The biggest problem here is, these mixes have absolutely nothing to do with "Blue Buddha". Neither of the remixers attempted to keep the structure of the track. Aside from a few random samples, this could be anybody's record. I don't understand what the record company hoped to accomplish with this. They obviously commissioned the mixes, but there are only a few shreds of the original track here. There's no sense of what the band is or what the song even sounds like in its original form. They sent the record out to DJs without even the band's name on it, so with nothing to tie it to the original track or the band, how was this supposed to promote anything? Interesting as a collectable, but I doubt you'll be spinning this more than once.
