Showcase is a studio album by American country music singer Patsy Cline, recorded with The Jordanaires and released November 27, 1961. It was Cline's second studio album and her first since Patsy Cline in 1957. The album produced two singles that became hits on both the Billboard country and pop charts. The first, "I Fall to Pieces," became Cline's first number one hit on the Billboard country chart and also reached the Top 15 on the pop Top 100 in 1961

If an artist ever deserved a box set chronicling her entire career, it is Patsy Cline. Having recorded 102 sides between 1955 and her death at the age of 30 in 1963, Cline changed not only country music forever, but affected the world of pop as well. Over four CDs, arranged chronologically, the listener gets treated to a story in the development and maturation of a cultural icon who was at least, in terms of her gift, the equal of her legend. Discs one and two document the recordings Cline made for the 4 Star label between 1955 and 1960

This is one of Patsy Cline's better-known compilations. The album consists of all Cline's big early-1960s hits. Unlike the massive-selling 12 Greatest Hits album, the version of "Walkin' After Midnight" on this album is the original version, not the remake. It also features her signature tune, "Crazy", as well as her other big hit "I Fall to Pieces", along with her 1963 hits, and even singles released after her death, like "He Called Me Baby" and "Always". 2 Critical reception.

Patsy Cline (September 8, 1932 – March 5, 1963), born Virginia Patterson Hensley, was an American country music singer. Part of the early 1960s Nashville sound, Cline successfully "crossed over" to pop music. She died at age 30 at the height of her career in a private plane crash.
