AFI (also referred to as The Blood Album) is the self-titled tenth studio album by American rock band AFI. It was released on January 20, 2017, through Concord Bicycle Music. The album release includes four limited sleeve art and vinyl color variants, corresponding to each of the four members of AFI, and associated with each of the four blood groups (A, O, B and AB).

In the Blood is the second album by British-American dance band Londonbeat, released in September 1990. It includes the single "I've Been Thinking About You", which reached number 2 in the UK Singles Chart in 1990 and number one on a number of world charts, including the US Billboard 100 the following year. The album reached number 21 on the US Billboard 200 and number 34 in the UK Albums Chart. All tracks written by Jimmy Chambers, George Chandler, Jimmy Helms and William Henshall, except where noted.

Of One Blood is the second studio album by Shadows Fall, released on April 4, 2000. On this release, the band improved the sometimes muddy and ill-defined production of their debut, Somber Eyes to the Sky. This was the band's first release on Century Media Records, featuring Brian Fair on vocals (replacing Philip Labonte). This is also the last album featuring the drummer David Germain, and the last album of the melodic death metal era of Shadows Fall

This album follows the 2011 critically acclaimed studio album Forevermore and 2015’s The Purple Album, a reimagining of Deep Purple classics from Whitesnake mastermind’s David Coverdale’s time in that band. The 13 original, visceral tracks on Flesh & Blood, the band’s 13th studio album, are, luckily for you dear reader, all killer, no filler, as the saying goes. But would you expect anything less from the ’Snakes?

Unlike Max's previous albums (both solo and as part of dc Talk), The Blood is a gospel album instead of having his usual rock stylings. He also explains a bit more on the style, stating, "The Blood is not a classic hymns cover project or a white/homogenized version of black gospel or soul music, it's a sensitive and stylized adaptation of the music that was at the root of rock.

The 'Blood Album' ignores nostalgia, and brainless regurgitation, or playing to expectations and instead focuses on a time and place. The Blood Album was my first introduction to AFI. Initially, Davey's involvement in DREAMCAR is what led me here. Having not had any prior of their music or their sound, I didn't know what I make of The Blood Album. However, there was an edge and a rawness to it that kept me coming back. After many listens, this album has been on constant repeat since I took the packaging off the CD case.
