Well, I assume "metal ballad" meant a ballad on a metal album/metal band. Otherwise I would say the concepts are almost mutually exclusive IMHO. Then The Bard's Song would count. But you are correct in the way that the song might not strictly speaking be metal. Although there's probably some power metal ballad that I cant' think of atm that's better.
