Ready for This? begins simply, with a song about anti-ginger discrimination and an ode to Jesus that includes a blasphemous twist. By the end, the album becomes brilliantly conceptual: Music biz saga Dark Side jumps between rock and classical, and "Storm" is an atheist shaggy-dog story that lasts almost 10 minutes. It still feels too short. You’d realize Tim Minchin hailed from Down Under even if he didn't name-drop Oz so often-his irreverent, genre-crossing comedy songs immediately call to mind New Zealand neighbors Flight of the Conchords. DVDS: Tim Minchin and the Heritage Orchestra, Live at the Royal Albert Hall is the latest of Tim’s five comedy DVDs. He has also made one called So F g Rock and one called Ready For This? TELEVISION: Sometimes Tim is on your telly, appearing on Friday Night with Jonathan Ross, 8 Out of 10 Cats, QI and Never Mind the Buzzcocks. He has also appeared on many variety and late night shows in Australia and the US. His comedy shows are shown on E4 in the UK and Netflix in the US.

Ready for This? Tim Minchin. Ready for This? "Please retry". The music is always amazing & would make this a respectable album in itself, even without the funny lyrics. There's also a nice mix of fast numbers like Canvas Bags & The Good Book, sublime tracks like Storm; the vitriolic swearfest of The Song For Phil Daoust (a critic who slated Minchin in The Guardian, apparently) & the incredibly sweet & touching Christmas single White Wine In The Sun. Incidentally, there's plenty of swearing & some anti-religious material, which didn't bother me but some people may not like it.
