The Connie Dungs are a poppy snotty punk band similar in style to The Ramones and, later, Jawbreaker. They existed as an active band from 1994 to 2000, taking part in over 20 releases during that time. The Dungs gained some degree of prominence in the American underground punk scene based on sporadic concerts around the middle . including Kentucky, Ohio, Tennessee, and West Virginia. In 2009, Tussey put out a solo album under his name. It was called "Outfitted for the Apocalypse. He also did spoken word work under the name Compost Press. In March 2011, the original four members (Brandon, Wayne, Chris and John) reformed the Connie Dungs. 1996 I Hate This Town 7" EP (Mutant Pop Records). 1997 Connie Dungs, Operation: Cliff Clavin split 7"/CDEP (Plan It X Records). 1997 Connie Dungs, Automatics (USA) split 10" EP (Cool Guy Records).

Album Songs for Swinging Nice Guys. It's been twenty years and I'm getting older Twenty years and I'm going nowhere Twenty years and I'm growing coder inside It's been twenty years and I'm not back in school Twenty years and I'm tired of being cool Twenty years, what am I gonna do with my life? It's my life Fuck this life I hate my life

Why don’t you know that I hate you so? Why can’t you stay six miles away? You’re always around to make sure I’m down I don’t want you around. I don’t give a fuck about you You try too hard to be cool And I don’t care just what you like I just want you to take a hike. Correct Mail Print Vote. I Don't Want You Around Lyrics. Connie Dungs "I Hate This Town" - Mutant Pop Records (1996) - See my disclaimer regarding this band in my first post about them. I used to own the orange vinyl version of this 7", but sold it in 2008. I kept this version because it was the weird alternate pressing that contained a "secret"/accidental sixth track, "Boy Of The Month". Arguably their best song. Which I imagine is why I kept this version over the orange vinyl version.

The Connie Dungs were a poppy snotty punk band from Ashland, Kentucky, composed of Brandon Tussey and brothers Chris Griffith and Wayne Griffith. In 1994, the Connie Dungs began performing at local shows for friends and punk fans in Eastern Kentucky.

Notes

This is an extremely rare variation of the fourth pressing of this release and is a transitional copy that was pressed in very small number between the gold vinyl and black vinyl at the pressing plant. The effect was a swirled combination of black and clear wax that was never officially available for sale.

Recorded at Audiotrax, Ashland, KY.
Made and printed in U.S.A.
