After a lucrative career playing commercial music, tenor-saxophonist Nino Tempo returned to the Stan Getz-inspired music that he loved most in his later years. This live set features him in a quintet with trumpeter Conte Candoli, pianist Mike Lang, bassist Brian Bromberg, and drummer Terri Lyne Carrington jamming on standards and blues. Candoli, while showing his age a bit, is in decent form, the rhythm section swings, and Tempo sounds very much in his prime.
