Eleven track compilation of various tunes by Mick Farren and, or the Deviants. Several of these tunes were originally released on this compilation, but have been put out on OTHER compilations that have been released at a later time. Couple of tracks that I thought were good include the fifteen-minute Farren epic "Carnivorous Circus" (possibly the best song of the entire CD) and their decently done Frank Zappa cover "Trouble Coming Everyday".

UK 'underground' band of the 1960's, founded by journalist & singer/songwriter Mick Farren - originally as The Social Deviants, but later shortened to The Deviants on the departure of guitarist Muldoon and bassist Munro. The band were also billed as Mick Farren & The Deviants, trading on Farren's journalistic popularity and 'street cred').

Mick Farren biography MICK FARREN began his musical career with the early UK psych band "the SOCIAL DEVIANTS" (later renamed "the DEVIANTS. ) Farren was kicked out of the band about 3 years after they began, which is when he recorded his first solo album "Mona, the Carnivorous Circus. The lineup was an early version of his next band the "Pink Faries. After this album was released it seemed as if Farren had retired from the music industry.

The Deviants (formerly The Social Deviants) were an English rock group originally active in the late 1960s, but later used as a vehicle for the musical work of writer Mick Farren until his death in 2013. Farren has stated that The Deviants were originally a community band which "did things every now and then-it was a total assault thing with a great deal of inter-relation and interdependence".

Michael Anthony Farren (3 September 1943 – 27 July 2013) was an English journalist, author and singer associated with counterculture and the UK underground. Farren was born in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire and after moving to Sussex he attended Worthing High School for Boys which was a state grammar school. In 1963 he moved to London where he studied at Saint Martin's School of Art.

All about the Deviants, Mick Farren and Friends. Mostly about what's happening now, and recently. The album would become an underground . cult classic being re-issued on five different record labels. The band would record two more albums, before parting ways help of MC5's Wayne Kramer and Motorhead's Phil Taylor to lend a hand when needed. After collapsing onstage in 2013, Farren died just two months shy of his 70th birthday. While Mick Farren may have been the leader of The Deviants, guitarist Andy Colquhoun is the star of the show, pulling out all of his guitar tricks, turning songs like "God's Worst Nightmare" and "Dogpoet" into amazing jams. They turn Bob Dylan's "It's Alright Ma (I'm Only Bleeding)" into a chaotic mess, while showing their bluesier side with "Lennon Song.

Mick Farren And The Deviants.

Mick Farren, founder of early punk band the Deviants and prolific writer, collapsed on stage during the band's set at the Atomic Sunshine Festival in London and has died. I don't know how the old boy is but he was unconcious on stage when the venue was cleared. Another post about 15 hours later simply said "Today was indeed the day. RI.
