Greatest Hits is the first compilation album to be released by Australian singer Jason Donovan. The collection was released in 1991. The album featured all his UK hit singles up to this point apart from his recent N. single "Any Dream Will Do", which featured on the cast recording of Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat (released on the Polydor label). 10 of the 13 tracks had featured on Donovan's first two albums, with new singles ".
His debut album Ten Good Reasons was the highest-selling album in the UK in 1989, with sales of over . million. He has had four UK No. 1 singles, one of which was "Especially for You", his 1988 duet with fellow Neighbours co-star Kylie Minogue. He has also appeared in several stage musicals, most prominently in the lead role of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat in the early 1990s. Donovan released his second album, Between The Lines, in May 1990, again produced by Stock Aitken Waterman. Although the album reached Platinum status in the UK, it was less successful than his debut a year before, peaking at no. 2 and selling only a fifth as many copies. Five singles were released from the album, and although they all reached the UK Top 30, they also signaled a decline in his popularity. Between 1988 and 1992, Donovan garnered 16 Top 40 hit singles in the UK.
This release features the original album plus bonus tracks. Originally released in 1989 Ten Good Reasons became the biggest selling album of that year and featured two solo and the massive hit duet with Kylie Minogue, "Especially For You". This slim line digipack release includes a 20 page booklet featuring original sleeve notes, an exclusive postcard and message from Jason Donovan.
